Picture with Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America at a Second Amendment Rally on the Capitol steps in the spring of 2012. Frankly, I STRONGLY support the Constitution AND the Bill of Rights.

One thing about the Bill of Rights that many people have forgotten or are no longer taught is that the first 10 Amendments are a recognition of a few of our Unalienable Rights. That means that they are rights that we have by virtue of being human, they are not ‘granted’ by Government.

The Bill of Rights came with a Preamble which states:

THE Conventions of a number of the States, having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government, will best ensure the beneficent ends of its institution.

Key words – declaratory and restrictive, as in SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.
